Typically your crew just stands around doing nothing while waiting for the protagonist to solve all of their issues.

It is also named after a town in Cornwall (near-ish to where I live), so naturally I’m gonna love it.ġ0.There aren’t a lot of ways to pass the time when you’re apart of a video game crew. Padstow Farewell: Yet another one that makes me cry purely due to the melancholy melody, but also anything about leaving home in shanties is super sad. Where am I to Go M’Jonnies: A bit of a cheerier one, with a good amount of grittiness in the vocals, but its also a great sing-a-long and has such a good bounce to it, and yet again some fab whoops and ‘heys’!ĩ. A great story as well…it screams ‘shanty’ to me.Ĩ. Way me Susianah: I love this one so much, I can imagine everyone swinging their ale tankards around. Fish in the Sea: A fabulous jaunty number that is strong with the nautical themes that really puts you in the world of the sailors stormy seas and has a great sense of camaraderie throughout the lyrics with some awesome sea animal cameos!ħ. Maid of Amsterdam: A great cheeky one, with an excellent story in the lyrics, with some lovely funny bits scattered throughout.Ħ.

Lowlands Away: A more solemn shanty, which is always welcome and I’m not gonna lie it brings a tear to my eye, it is just so beautiful and haunting, capturing the loneliness of sailors.ĥ. Drunken Sailor: I mean, it’s an absolute classic…Ĥ. Running Down to Cuba: Another jaunty fella, great sing along and I am always a sucker for the shanties that have some excellent ‘HEYS’ scattered through them.ģ. It’s both positive in theme, but has quite a heavy tone to it, which is quite common in Shanties.Ģ.

Randy Dandy Oh: A Great sing-a-long but also has such a sailor-y theme to it. I was going to rank them all, but there are 35…and well I don’t want to bore you, so I’ll keep it to 10! I have only included those that are purely vocals, well it isn’t really a proper shanty to me when there is backing music!ġ.
